The surgery will be CLOSED on Monday 28th of September for the public holiday. If you require urgent medical advice please contact your local pharmacy, minor injury unit or call NHS 24 on 111.

Currently we are not booking flu clinics, information so far from the Health Board and Scottish Government is that we will vaccinate the 18-64 year  olds at risk category and this will be carried out in the surgery, we will notify you when the clincs are available for booking. 

All other flu vaccinations will be carried out in the community, a letter will follow soon to advise you of this from either the Health Board or Scottish Government.

Coronavirus - Visit the NHS inform website or call 0800 028 2816 for general information and advice. If you have symptoms STAY HOME and call NHS 24 on 111.

The Monday evening clinics at the surgery are currently SUSPENDED, we will close at the normal time of 6pm.

Prescriptions - We are NOT issuing early or extra prescriptions. To reduce the number of patients attending the surgery, a number of pharmacies offer a collection service and we would be happy to give your prescriptions to their driver.

The surgery will be CLOSED every Tuesday between 12.30 - 13.30 for the forseeable future for staff training. For urgent matters, there will still be a telephone service.

LGBT Health and Wellbeing COVID 19 Support

Online booking of GP appointments via. Patient Access is currently SUSPENDED due to coronavirus.

We now require 48 HOURS to process ALL PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS. Prescriptions will be available for collection at the surgery after 48 hours from the request. This change is due to increased pressure on resources, thank you for your co-operation and understanding.

Appointments

circled_dayThe surgery offers appointments ranging from 08:00 - 17:30 (we also offer late night routine appointments on a Monday night - please contact surgery for further details). In order to help, we operate the following categories of consultation.

  • Routine Appointments - You can book routine GP appointments up to 4 weeks in advance (these can also be booked online through Patient Access) These are for problems that can wait until the next available appointment with the GP.
  • Telephone Consultations (5 minutes) -  are available routinely for telephone advice with the GP. These appointment are for problems the GP can deal with over the phone.
  • Urgent Appointments - for conditions that, in your opinion, cannot wait more than 48 hours to be seen by a doctor. The appointment offered will not necessarily be with the doctor of your choice. Our phone lines switch on at 8am, please phone as early in the morning as possible to book. 

  • Emergency (same day) Appointments - for conditions that need to be seen by a doctor the same day. The duty doctor for that day will call you to discuss symptoms in a telephone triage and offer an appointment if necessary. These appointments can only be booked by the duty doctor. These appointments will not necessarily be with your doctor of choice. Our phone lines switch on at 8am, please phone as early in the morning as possible to book. 

Practice Nurses

  • Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) - are available on an urgent and routine basis. For coughs/colds, chest infections, sinus infections, diarrhoea, constipation, ear/nose/throat infections, cold sores, athletes foot, eye infections/stys, hayfever, headaches, indigestion, impetigo, shingles, muscle pain, UTI (not suitable for pharmacy), vaginal discharge, wound infections and other minor ailments. (Pregnant women and children under 5 years old cannot be seen by the ANP)
  • Nurse telephone triage (same day) - if you have symptoms of a urine infection (UTI )the nurse will discuss your symptoms in a telephone consultation.  

Chaperones and Interpreters

If you require an intimate physical examination and would like a chaperone, please state this at the time of booking your appointment. We also have access to an interpreter service; again please state at the time of booking if required.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. (Our cancellation line is open 24/7 so this allows you to leave a message to cancel an appointment at any time).
